Heyo, friends and fans! It’s Monday so you knows I’m gonna be streaming tonight!
Part 3 of my playthrough of “Heroine’s Quest: The Herald of Ragnarök” begins at 7PM NL time! Watch here, or join the chat on YouTube! It’s so lonely being a hero sometimes.
The PLOT: The land of Fornsigtuna is plagued by endless cold. People believe it is the Fimbulwinter, the eternal winter that heralds Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Gods: The end of the world. The Jarl has called for a hero to defeat Egther, the frost giant behind this nefarious plot. What he got was Vero, a cunning rogue with a heart of gold (which she probably stole) but very low stats. Will wits and guile be enough to end the end of the world as we know it? Or is this frozen land toast?
The RECAP: We’ve met the people of Fornsigtuna and its neighbouring village Munavagir. We’ve gotten a quest to save the land from peril (plus several side quests). We’ve been stat grinding.
Last week, we:
- Saved the man who was attacked in our dreams by yelling at him until he woke up
- Met the fierce and fiercely independent people of Munavagir (and tried to pickpocket them)
- Found the Thieves’ Lodge (yay, friends!)
- Encountered Ratatosk, THE DOOM SQUIRREL, yet another Herald of Ragnarok. Ragnarok seems to have a lot of heralds – too many maybe?
- Fleshed out the map – so far, there’s two towns, a graveyard, a swamp, and some mysterious glowing stones.
This week, we’re going to do some more exploring – that is, if we’re strong enough to withstand the bitter cold of the Fimbulwinter and the bandits, trolls, and vorgs of the forest. And if we can’t – STAT GRINDING, baby! Workin’ grind to grind, what a way to make sure everyone keeps living.
The GAME: Heroine’s Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is an adventure game/RPG hybrid by studio Crystal Shard. Inspired by the Norse epic The Poetic Edda, it follows a young heroine’s epic quest to prevent the end of the world… epically.
