Week 3 Roundup: Un-Stopping

Feeling less sick, but more anxious. The piles keep piling up.

Trying to get back into the swing of things, but shit keeps happening. Rude. Hot water tank replacement, broken fridge, toilet won’t flush, sick and hurt friends & family, and death in the family. Working on funny things in these times feels wrong but I don’t know what else to do. One foot forward, one step at a time.

Project 1: Need to pivot on a point but otherwise on track

Project 2: Nearing completion, at least this first wing of it. Eleven more to go.

I’m definitely wondering if I bit off more than I can chew, but I’m going to give it a bit longer before I pull the plug on Project 2. I’m getting my mental ass handed to me, but then we had a rehearsal last night and I feel invigorated. It’s a lot, I need a break, but the break is coming, I can feel it.

Exercise Goals: 14% – I tried getting back to it once I started feeling better but I think I need a little more recovery

Writing Goals: 50% – I wrote a lot, but not on the projects I’m supposed to be working on, ugh

Priority on To Do List: Prioritize To Do List

Ruminations: Various

Progresses: I’m untangling myself from the remnants of my toxic social media habit. Moving off socials is hard because it feels like leaving a community – but if I’m being honest, there isn’t much of a community for me on there right now. I’ve been in online communities since I was 8. I have lost or moved on from many before, this is just another one.

I’m trying to develop some IRL community right now. Last night, we had a great rehearsal for the show this Thursday. This is what I am craving, really. Real human faces and words and laughter. Getting a group of cool weirdos in a room and watching magic happen.

News is scary but my work now is in building safeguards, real support systems for myself and vulnerable members of my communities.

Deep breaths. One foot and then the next. Take a breath to remember the dead. Take a step for the living.

Judith Drugan arrives on Thursday…
