Thank You!

Wrapped on my first solo show — I had an amazing experience. I have been working on it for a long time and this is just the beginning for it — but I wanted to thank everyone who helped get me to this point.

Allison Kelly worked as my dramaturg and helped develop the script, it was a great experience and I am deeply grateful to Ally for keeping me on track and working through concerns and issues together. And for laughing haha

Santiago Guzman had first eyes on a first draft and got me to think about the driving purpose of the show, which helped me shape the story itself

Mikaela Dyke helped me work through movement and acting and directing and developing the performance (the slow knife reveals and spit roast were her ideas!)

Heather Rumancik was my tech director and lighting designer and ad hoc stage manager and is so thoughtful and generous and talented

Dakota Quinn was sound engineer and recording sound and is a delight to work with

The staff at the LSPU Hall are wonderful (although b’ys gotta get on fixing the online box office system, it’s real bad)

The St. John’s Shorts let me do a reading at their festival in September and the wonderful reaction I got there really drove me to get this finished

I had financial support from CanCom, the Canadian Foundation for Stand Up Comedy for recording the show, and the Canada Council for the Arts for developing the script.

I have many supporters in my life, friends and family and found family, who send me kind messages and memes and puns and animations and videos of lesbian lumberjacks chopping wood. I always appreciate them, especially the lesbian lumberjacks, I should buy an ax, stay on track Veronica.

And finally, my amazing partner Stacy, who makes everything better, who believes in me when I don’t, who lets me steal her jokes, she is great and I am grateful for her every day.
