It’s that time of the year again! Throughout the year, I try to write down the cool things I get to do so I can share them and reflect on what happened, the good and the bad. I had a super fun 2022, trying all sorts of things, pushing myself beyond my comfort zones. Here’s some of it!

I also want to acknowledge the stuff that’s less fun – I applied for workshops I wasn’t accepted for and went out for mentorships I never got. I submitted films to festivals that didn’t get in and sent my manuscript to a publisher who sent back a (truly lovely) rejection letter. I received feedback on my work that was hard to hear and didn’t get to do as many shows as I liked and I struggled to write what I did. I started projects I haven’t completed. But that’s all ok, that’s all part of it. I put myself out there more than ever this year and I am so happy and proud of what I managed to accomplish and also proud of my attempts.
Thanks so much to everyone who worked on projects with me this year — there are loads, but special shout out to Susan Kelsey and Sarah Walsh for learning a script in 4 weeks and nailing “Bad Date” at the SJS.
Thanks also to those who work to provide opportunities to develop and show off creative works in NL – I so appreciate the support of the volunteers at the St John’s Shorts, the staff of the Nickel Festival, St. John’s Pride, Nifco, the Writer’s Alliance NL, and so many more.
So excited to make and do more awesome things in 2023!
