This is my Kate Beatoniest comic, in that I tried very hard to be Kate Beaton here. Did I succeed? No. No one ever could.
This is an old comic about that blessed day when you have to buy new pants because the crotch of your old pants is so worn out that if you don’t buy new ones right away you risk an indecency charge. I have not seen a New Pants Day in lo these many years. Clearly a result of the War on New Pants Day.
Did you notice how I snuck the S in “pants” in the final panel? Clearly I forgot it and crammed it in there later. So suave. I am a great letterer. This is because I both plan ahead, and never change my mind on things midway through production.
